Egypt Set to Host 10th Pharmaconex Next Week
The Egypt International Exhibition Center (EIEC) will host the 10th edition of Pharmaconex, Africa's leading pharmaceutical manufacturing hub, during 3-5 September 2023.
The three-day event will be organised by Informa Markets Egypt and is expected to bring together 6,000 visitors as well as more than 250 major exhibitors from over 20 countries, according to a press release.
Eight main pharmaceutical manufacturing sectors will be addressed in 2023 event, including active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) and generic APIs, biopharmaceuticals, and lab equipment. This is in addition to fine chemicals, intermediates, and excipients, as well as pharmaceutical packaging, clean rooms, pharmaceutical machinery and Products, and contract manufacturing.
Pharmaconex will be featuring a conference programme covering critical topics such as sterile manufacturing, digital transformation, supply chain resilience, quality management, and pharmaceutical engineering.
This year’s exhibition will likely witness a 30% increase in Indian participation, which mirrors the growing significance India plays as a global player in pharmaceutical manufacturing, catering to local markets and exports in the region. This will be in addition to collaboration with Chinese organisations and companies, which will boost cooperation with Chinese businesses and exhibition professionals.
Group Exhibition Director at Informa Markets Egypt, Mostafa Khalil, said: "Pharmaconex 2023 brings together industry leaders, innovators, and business owners. […] This vision is supported by an in-depth analysis of the booming North African pharmaceutical market.”
Khalil highlighted that the total pharmaceutical market in the Middle East and Africa hit $47 billion in 2022, which marked a 63% growth from 2021, according to IQVIA's quarterly report.
